Jannick Piskorski has a BA degree in History and Musicology from the Greifswald University and is a Master student in Eastern European Studies at the Hamburg University. He also studies Music Theory at the Lübeck University of Music, where he wa a research assistant in the DFG research project ‘Transatlantic Relations and Anti-American Reservations in the Musical Life of the German Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy 1880-1915’. He is co-organizer of the seminar series Decolonize Eastern Europe. His research interests include the history of Poland in the 19th and 20th centuries, music history of Central and Eastern Europe and Postcolonial Studies in the context of Eastern Europe. He was research assistant at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw, at the German Historical Institute in Rome and at the Institute of the History of the German Jews in Hamburg. He received the Deutschland Stipendium scholarship and is currently a scholar at the GFPS foundation.
